Word for Today (2.12.2022):

What We Can Pray For in Hope?

Ephesians 2:8-9: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.

We do hear many things in our lives and what people speak about us. We do many things in our lives as we strive to live. But these are the works and deeds that we do to live our lives. We cannot be doing everything as it is happening in the Bible. We see a man hurt and wounded lying on the street. Many maybe lying down in that manner. And you know that is because of his alcoholic habits. How little will you be knowing that the wounds could have been caused because of a family rivalry or goondas? Will you risk yourselves to save and help him? You can if he is wanting your help or just call to the ambulance and leave him to their plight for they have access to authority? Does that mean we strive for authority – well, if that is how our lives should be then, yes. I remember doing this kind of help to a stray dog hurt once. I rang up to Blue Cross on my way to school and told them that I will not be present but to take the dog and go leaving the responsibility to the phone shop owner. These days with mobile we cannot find an alternative person in that manner. And, I am not denying the convenience of having a mobile that will help me find Blue Cross number. It is not by doing such deeds that we earn the good will of God but by faith that impacts our soul and hearts to that extent that the fruits of the Holy Spirit turns out to be part of our lives inevitable and as our way. My critical mind will immediately tend to connect that the phrase gift of God as equivalent to the gift of the Holy Spirit. But clearly God tells us how Trinity works here that the gift of God, grace, is what He gives to us for our own faith in him. Never lose HOPE – LIVELY HOPE that was restored through Jesus and his dying on the cross and resurrection for our sake. There are three things we can pray to God in our difficult times – wisdom to show us the way to deliverance that he has planned for us; grace that we will not have to keep tolerating waiting for his deliverance; and favor that our trials and tribulations turn to prosperity, peace, and joy – rest.

Dear Lord, Almighty bless this day and the days to come. Bless all those who wish me well, those who don’t accept to treat me inhumanely, and those who want me to live a good life. Bless my enemies to stay away and not know me so that they will not earn your wrath against them. Fill our daily plates in abundance that we may never run out of but be able to help others. Provide us with long-lasting, good, and safe roofs and clothing. Thank you for what you have provided today. Deliver us from all evils, specifically, that are of this day. Touch us with your healing hands so that we may remain in good health. Make way for us and show us the way to your blessedness so that we may lead our lives in peace, joy, love, hope, faith, goodness, prosperity, praise, and worship exemplifying your glory for a victorious life on this earth. Amen.
